Nordisk Panorama 2009 - the winners

During six days, 72 films competed in the Competition Programme of Nordisk Panorama 5 Cities Film Festival 2009 which showcased the best new short films and documentaries from the five Nordic countries. Many of them were screened to an international audience for the first time. At Nordisk Panorama's Gala Awards Ceremony, films from Denmark and Sweden dominated the stage.

Best Nordic Short Film

The Award for Best Nordic Short Film went to the Icelandic director Rúnar Rúnarsson which was competing for Denmark with his film Anna.

The Special Jury Mentions went to Sara Eliasson from Norway for her film Still Birds and Patrik Eklund from Sweden for his film Seeds of the fall.

Canal+ Award

The Canal+ Prize, selected by the Canal+ representatives consists a purchase of the film for Canal+ broadcasting in France and Africa. The winner of this award is the Swedish director Åsa Johannisson from Sweden with the film Fish.

Best Nordic Documentary

The prize for best documentary film went to the film Red Chapel from Denmark directed by Mads Brügger.

The Special Jury Mentions went to Christian S. Jepsen from Denmark and his film Side By Side and Iris Olsson from Finland and her film Between Dreams.

New Nordic Voices

For the third year around new promising Nordic filmmakers competed in New Nordic Voices. This years winners are William Johansson and Lars Edman from Sweden and their film Toxic Playground.

The Special Jury Mention went to Strays by Sutharsan Bala from Norway.

Open Source Development Grant

 

Last but not least the Nordic Film and TV Fund granted a project represented in the Open Source Cinema Cilnic and the grant went to Antti Haase and Jussi Orozafrom Finland for their project One Thousand Stories.
