Masterclass: Animating Real Life

Meet the award winning documentarian Erik Gandini, known for his innovative approach to the documentary genre, and the animation director and interdisciplinary artist Uri Kranot in an inspiring masterclass on animated documentary. The masterclass is moderated by Klara Grunning and presented by ANIDOX.

In this masterclass, Uri and Erik will discuss their creative process and demonstrate the strengths and challenges of creating an animated documentary, exemplified by “Cosmopolitanism”. Coming from very different schools of filmmaking, they will show how they managed to weave together a project based on those two approaches.

The masterclass will include the screening of “Cosmopolitanism” and will be followed by a networking session where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss projects with the filmmakers, the moderator and the ANIDOX team.

The Animation Workshop’s ANIDOX programme lead by Michelle and Uri Kranot is a unique opportunity to produce, develop projects and share knowledge about animated documentaries. “

Cosmopolitanism” will also be screened in the Short program Animated Docs on Tuesday.

Erik Gandini’s last feature documentary Swedish Theory of Love (2015) will be screened on Sunday.
