We are proud to present our team of experienced film programmers with great passion for Nordic short films and documentaries.


Festival Programme Manager

Maja Lindquist

Maja Lindquist is a doc lover and passionate about bringing great storytelling to wide audiences. Maja has a broad experience of working with programming and presenting documentaries to new audiences. She has been involved in the Nordic documentary screening network Doc Lounge since it’s beginning in Malmö in 2006 and is now the co-director of the organisation that operates in 18 Nordic cities.

Previously Maja worked for the Swedish art house cinema Folkets Bio and as European coordinator for the independent culture houses in Trans Europe Halles.

“I believe that short and documentary films have the power to engage and inspire positive change in personal lives and the wider society. An incredible amount of great films are being made in the Nordic countries and I feel honoured to be programming for Nordisk Panorama – Nordic Short & Doc Film Festival.”

“I wish to create an exciting programme that reflects the time we live in and is attractive to the international film community as well as a broad audience in Malmö.”

This years festival has a special focus on Iceland with it’s strong energy and creativity, something Maja hopes will permeate the entire festival.

Short Film Programmer

Angie Driscoll

Angie Driscoll is a rabid short film lover, a music video enthusiast, champion of filmmakers and defender of underdogs! With over twelve years of film programming experience, and short film expertise, she has selected films for a variety of festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival, the CFC’s Worldwide Short Film Festival, Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival and Aspen Shortsfest.

She has been a consultant for the Sundance Film Festival, Reel Canada and the Atlantic Filmmakers’ Coop, as well as a short film curator for the Internet and mobile TV platform Babelgum. She currently programs international feature and short documentaries for Hot Docs, short animation, experimental, fiction and non-fiction films for Aspen Shortsfest and one-minute silent films for the Toronto Urban Film Festival.

Selecting short Nordic films for Nordisk Panorama – Nordic Short & Doc Film Festival is a dream come true and she cannot wait to spread her passion and exuberance for the short film art form to new audiences near and far!


Icelandic Focus Programmer

Janus Bragi Jakobsson

Janus is an Icelandic documentary director graduated from the Danish Film School. He has experience in directing and editing documentaries for the film screen and TV, commercials and music videos. He has also played a significant role as a mentor and participator in the growing progressive Icelandic film community.

Janus teaches documentary filmmaking and has been the artistic director and programmer for the Icelandic documentary festival Skjaldborg in addition to working with other filmmakers, production companies, ad agencies and TV stations.
