Schools screenings at the festival
In collaboration with the city of Malmö’s department of culture the festival programme offers free film screenings for Malmö’s schools.
For over 100 years, Skolbio has been a national initiative in Sweden to invite children and young people to watch films at their local cinema during school hours. During the festival, we provide free film screenings to primary and high schools as part of our Skolbio programme.

The Next Generation of Programmers 2024
– Malmö latinskola
This year, we’re proud to introduce a pilot project together with Malmö Skolbio and Malmö latinskola high school, in which a class of film students curates their own programme from films submitted to the festival.
By giving students the opportunity to choose their own films, this project is designed to promote and strengthen the next generation of programmers and to discover which films spark the interest of young people. The selected films will be screened at Malmö latinskola for all students on the first day of the festival.
