Ella of the Moors
Ella i Lyngheiene
Eighty-year-old Ella used to run a farm on Norway's western coast. The area is dominated by heather-covered moors and swamps, unchanged for centuries. Soon these areas will all be covered by forest. We follow three generations through their daily chores where the human labour and ecology have decisive influence. Work is done by the old methods that neither pollute nor destroy the delicate balance of nature. The film depicts not only a vanishing farming culture but also the interaction between three generations.
