Keeping an Eye on Volcanoes
Ad gæta eldfjalla
Icelandic geo-scientists have worked with non-scientific people residing in rural areas for a long time, watching over dangerous volcanoes and earthquake zones. This work has improved in recent years with high technology, some of which is developed in Iceland. All the famous and renowned volcanoes, like Hekla, Katla and Krafla are now monitored. Efforts are also made to foresee the big earthquakes that regularly hit Southern-Iceland.
