Joyce Carol Oates "A Body in the Service of Mind"

Often described as America’s foremost woman of letters, Joyce Carol Oates has written over 100 novels in a variety of genres and continues to publish at least one book a year. Much of her writing features young girls and women, people of color, the mistreated and underprivileged. The America depicted in the works of Joyce is a mélange of the ordinary and the extraordinary. Joyce Carol Oates has been intensely private and it took 16 years for Swedish director Stig Björkman to convince her to agree to this portrait.
