Norwegian trade union leader Walter Jonsen contemplates his views in the German Reichstag before making a public address to the people of Berlin. After being honoured by his German Metal Union colleagues he ends the night being mugged by two prostitutes. An unlikely Samaritan brings him back to life and he rediscovers the satisfaction of helping the little man get fair pay for his work.
