To get time to go out to dinner and the movies alone, a man tells his wife he has to work overtime. She realises he is lying and assumes he has a mistress. The fictitious mistress rejuvenates their marriage, and it becomes necessary for the husband to disappear occasionally. However, he now longs for the old ways.
