Coastal Life
Å seile sin egen sjø
Along the coast of Norway, we run into a few everyday heroes. Regine fishes inshore from Lofoten to the North Cape in a small smack with her boyfriend. Øystein lives on a group of uninhabited islands off the Nordland coast. He has wild sheep and collects down from birds, and is building a small restaurant from driftwood. Nils Olav is one of the last remaining builders of 'oselvers', a rowboat from Viking times. But he dreams of making real money in mackerel fishing. Magnus has run an oyster farm for 70 years; both he and the farm are getting run down. A warm, good-natured film about people, dreams - and fading traditions.
