Passio - A Painter’s Psalm of Colours
Málarinn og sálmurinn hans um litinn
Icelandic painter Sveinn Björnsson (1925-1997) struggled continuously to perfect his art. At one point, tiring of his craft, he saw a woman in a vision. Spurred by her to new creativity, he developed a new style. His new pictures were panned by Danish critics. Back in Iceland, he had a dream in which his female muse led him to the small church near his studio. He then painted a resurrection scene as an altarpiece. Four months later, he died, and was buried in the church’s graveyard.
