Magpies have a bad reputation. They are said to be thieves and untrustworthy. The film neither stresses nor refutes such rumours. What it makes clear is that magpies are always busy. They search for food in our leftovers, they hide bread and frozen potato chips in piles of leaves and under the snow. Socially and emotionally their behaviour is similar to ours. They live year after year with the same mate, look to each other for company.
