Red Forests
Røde skoger
In 1931, 142 Norwegian forest workers left for the Soviet Union. During times of unemployment and depression in the West, the Soviet State offered work for Norwegian lumbermen. The conservative press called it "slave contracts". Labour newspapers were more supportive. We meet forest worker Ingmar Trondsen and by following him back to the place where he lived and worked during parts of his youth, we are able to share his memories and experiences.
