Mechanical Love

In a documentary on the interrelationship between robots and humans we meet an old German woman keeping her memories alive by talking with a baby seal called Paro. We also meet Professor Ishiguro who develops androids and is working on his own geminoid. The professor wonders what it takes to be human. Film director Phie Ambo highlights our need to love and be loved – perhaps the two most important aspects of life. Ambo examines how East and West accept emotional robots.
