Iben, a 64-year-old teacher, lives in a small village in the Lofoten Islands with her dog, Ivo. To help a misfit pupil, she lets him play with the dog. But the kid provokes the dog and it accidentally bites him, and the village people demand that Iben’s best friend is put down.
