Young Nordic: Hold On
This year’s Young Nordic competition selection contains thirteen short films for children and young people aged ten and up to upper secondary school. With a wide range of genres, visual styles and themes, the programme showcases the richness and diversity of Nordic cinema today. They are all told through a young perspective and reflect on what it’s like to be a child or young person in the Nordic countries – and in the world – today.
Children in middle school can enjoy a short film package centred on friendship and the unexpected challenges of everyday life. Older pupils are offered stories about responsibility, expectations and complex family dynamics. For Years 8–9, we present an exciting programme that explores themes of belonging, identity and peer pressure. Upper secondary students are invited to discover a mixed selection of films that tackle urgent issues such as norms, climate change and personal trauma.
Screening and tickets for accredited guests only.
