Rosengård Library Programme: Threads of Belonging
Three short documentaries exploring identity, community and our connection to the environment make up our library programme this year. Tales From the Soil by Mariia Solodiankina sees artist Seraina Grupp uses soil and food as mediums to reflect on community and care, complemented by Janina Turunen’s expressive dance in Copenhagen’s green surroundings. Home River by Kati Eriksen and Scott Thornton follows three Sámi women as they fight to preserve their fishing traditions against Finnish restrictions, highlighting a monumental case for Indigenous rights. And The Rootless by August Joensalo captures a filmmaker’s journey to preserve Karelian culture amidst personal and generational loss.
The films will play on a loop throughout the festival.
