– Our fourth and final competition programme delves into what happens when different worlds collide. In One & the Same by Mikkel Bjørn Kehlert, a recently divorced father and his teenage sons seek solace by the ocean but are drawn into a conflict with their neighbour, testing their bond and resilience. Trees Painted in Tar follows a teenage boy’s harrowing choice between his father’s approval and his own integrity during a hunting trip gone awry. Henna Välkky and Eesu Lehtola’s animated documentary Bright White Light investigates near-death experiences, blending real audio with experimental visuals to explore the boundary between life and the afterlife.
