The Unforgiven
The Unforgiven
In 1992, Esad was a 19-year-old Muslim boy when he was radicalized and became a part of the Civil War of former Yugoslavia. He became a guard in the prison camp of Celibici in Bosnia executioner and he tortured and killed prisoners. He was arrested and convicted to 15 years of prison. Esad is confronted with his victims and with himself as a young man in a dark, personal tale of evil, self-hatred and forgiveness. But the psychology of war is a bleak and inaccessible landscape that stretches far beyond Esad's own, heartbreaking story.
