Ken and Nina are finally having a baby after years of trying. Ken's mother is present at the maternity ward, even though Nina doesn't want her there. Just before the baby is born, a new shift comes on duty, with the midwife from hell. The midwife tosses Ken and his mother out. And Nina learns that even the worst people can end up being your friends.
