Nordic documentaries have huge success on the international festival circuit – but after that, what happens?

Where does the Nordic audience have the opportunity to experience the many creative, risky, personal and sometimes provocative documentaries that are made every year? Which players, besides the cinemas and public broadcasters, could contribute to a more dynamic and inviting documentary landscape? And what happens when the filmmakers take distribution into their own hands?

With inspiration from international examples and current initiatives, the Swedish Film Institute invites you to an exploratory panel discussion about new approaches to ensuring more documentaries can reach a larger audience.

Arranged in collaboration with The Swedish Film Institute.

Moderator: Olga Ruin / Filmmaker, Film Critic and Editor in Chief FLM

Panel:
Niklas Engstrøm / Artistic Director CPH:DOX, PARA:DOX (DK)

Margarete Jangård / Producer & Ninnie Schelin / Social Media Manager, WG Film (SE)
