From his Academy Award-nominated The Last Farm to his most recent success, O, Rúnar Rúnarsson has built a remarkable body of short films that has travelled the world and earned international recognition.

 

In this conversation, Rúnar takes us through his journey as a short filmmaker, revisiting some of the films and creative choices that have shaped his career along the way. How has his approach to storytelling evolved? What can a filmmaker learn from making short films over many years? And how do the experiences, challenges and discoveries of one film feed into the next?

Through selected works and personal reflections, Rúnar will share insights into his creative process, his development as a filmmaker and the role short films have played throughout his career – from his early work to his latest short masterpiece.
