Festival Trailer Music
We are delighted to continue our collaboration with the Malmö Academy of Music on the original score for this year’s festival trailer. Created by graduates Kevin Andersson, Rasmus Ringdahl Holm and Breki Sigurðarson as part of the Master’s Programme in Composition: Scoring for Film and Media, the soundtrack captures the anticipation and cinematic energy of Nordisk Panorama 2026. We spoke to the composers about the creative process behind the music.
“We wanted to capture the essence of Nordisk Panorama as a vibrant cinematic meeting place. Inspired by minimalist composers such as Steve Reich, we used repeating rhythms, ostinatos and recurring themes to create a continuous sense of momentum and anticipation. We combined these minimalist elements with the grandeur of film music, blending expansive synthesisers with powerful brass. Inspired by this year’s festival artwork – its bold colours and striking imagery – we wanted the music to evoke the feeling of sitting in front of a cinema screen, setting the stage for the powerful and thought-provoking stories that await audiences at this year’s festival.”

The Master’s Programme in Composition: Scoring for Film and Media at the Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University, prepares the next generation of composers for careers in film and visual media. Now in its second year, our partnership gives emerging composers the opportunity to create an original score for a live festival production, while bringing exciting new musical voices to Nordisk Panorama.
We are so happy to have the programme and it’s talented pool of students as part of our festival.
