Jón Friðriksson runs Myndbandavinnslan, a small workshop where he digitises films, tapes and other fading formats. His space is crowded with reels, machines and curious trinkets devoted to the preservation of moving images. Every day, memories of families, friends, lovers and artists pass through his hands, rescued for the digital age. But as he nears retirement, the future of countless family histories and forgotten stories hangs in the balance.
