Celebrating Mum
Hurra for mamma
1979. Mamma is turning sixty, which calls for a celebration. The day before her birthday, her two elder sons and their wives return to her home in a narrow valley in Northern Troms, Norway. Their younger brother, given to drink and still living at home, brings out some moonshine. Mamma falls asleep and the partying gets serious, hard liquor pouring down open throats. Then, big brother's ethnic Sami coat emerges from the closet. Conditions are ripe for a quarrel about origin and identity.
