This year’s selected Forum Projects

Nordisk Panorama Forum is the annual meeting place and funding event for Nordic documentary professionals, looking to connect with a variety of Nordic and international industry stakeholders from TV, film institutes and regional film funds.

At Nordisk Panorama Forum, a selection of 24 brand new documentary projects will be pitched to approximately 70 attending stakeholders, in addition, 24 observer+ projects have been selected for special access to pre-scheduled meetings with stakeholders.

The selection features notable filmmakers returning to Nordisk Panorama including the highly successful Norwegian team of director Benjamin Ree and producer Ingvil Giske, the creators behind the recently Emmy© nominated documentary The Remarkable Life of Ibelin. They are back with a new project called The Greatest Illusion which they will pitch at the Forum and is a touching exploration of memories, loss and trauma.

Also returning are Swedish director Maria Fredriksson and producer Ina Holmqvist whose The Gullspång Miracle has not only been featured at the Nordisk Panorama Forum but also opened the festival in 2023. They are now teaming up again with their new project The Palme Syndrome, which centres around the enduring impact of Prime Minister Olof Palme’s assassination on Swedish society – 40 years later.

New and emerging talent will also be featured at this year’s Forum, particularly through our Wildcards initiative. Each of the five Wildcards has been selected by their respective national Film Institute, which aims to support new documentary filmmakers. These selected talents will have the opportunity to present and pitch their projects at the Forum in Malmö.
