Young Nordic Short Film Package: Karaoke, Critters and Quirky Adventures

For almost a century, Skolbio has introduced children and young people across Sweden to the magic of cinema by bringing school classes to film screenings during the school day. As part of this long-standing tradition, Nordisk Panorama is proud to partner with Malmö’s Cultural Administration to offer free festival screenings for primary and secondary school pupils. 

The programme gives young audiences the chance to discover Nordic documentary and short films while exploring the art of filmmaking. For teachers, the screenings provide a valuable resource for classroom discussions, linking themes from the films to the curriculum as well as encouraging engagement with the Nordic languages. 

The children’s participation forms the basis for a democratic audience award, where every child has the right to cast their vote and nominate the best film for the Young Nordic Award.
