The first feature documentary by visual artist Saku Soukka portrays the Extinction Rebellion Finland community from the inside. What is the price of questioning society’s established norms? What does it feel like to face powerful authorities and their harsh tactics? Over two years, we follow events from Lapland’s wild wetlands to the streets of Helsinki. In their struggle to curb the climate crisis and biodiversity loss, activists use their own bodies to block factories, infrastructure and roads. Encounters with the police make it difficult, and the rebels sometimes end up in custody and in court. Sometimes they also have to face violence.
