Norway’s black metal scene is world-renowned, male-dominated, macabre and the perfect breeding ground for witches to come to life again. This is a story about three ordinary young women – Nikoline, Victoria and Johanna – who make a three-year pact to transform themselves into a real black metal band. They call themselves Witch Club Satan and want to use their music to express women’s raw, hidden powers and to scream the screams of all women... all without knowing how to play a single instrument. To succeed, they seek the power they gain from witches. During the three years we follow them, we see the band quickly ignite and the flame spiral out of control. The band Witch Club Satan gains its own will and power that pulls them in different directions as they struggle to maintain the dream of freedom and magic in a world that is often contradictory, masculine and as difficult to balance as three vastly different girls. What happens when they start doubting what female freedom and qualities truly are, and whether they can live up to what they shout out? In the shadows linger the old witch trials. Are we still condemning witches to silence even today?
