The Secret Reading Club of Kabul
The Secret Reading Club of Kabul
In Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, where women are denied the right to study, work, and speak freely, a group of young women secretly form a reading club. Inspired by Anne Frank, they start writing their own diaries and documenting their lives, as a timeless defence of humanity, beyond borders or eras. The film captures unique, intimate, and unprecedented footage and testimonies, filmed by the women themselves.
