33rd edition

Before everyone gathers for midsummer celebrations we are pleased to announce that Nordisk Panorama will be back at full speed 22-27 September celebrating the best new Nordic documentaries and short films. This is all thanks to the amazing increased support from all of you, the regional and national funders, and in particular the Nordic Film Institutes.

Filmmakers from all Nordic countries will compete in our five competition programmes and a full slate of hybrid industry events will take place with decision makers, commissioners and producers from all around the world.

After the summer we will announce additional brand-new initiatives – stay tuned!

Happy Hours are Back!

Be the Host of a Happy Hour at Nordisk Panorama

We are pleased to announce that we are bringing our popular Happy Hours at Grand Malmö back for this year’s festival.

Doc Forward in Oslo

In the second stage of the Doc Forward workshops, this week in Oslo, the twelve projects met with industry commissioners from the Nordic film institutes, broadcasters and streamers. A warm thank you to all participants for sharing your projects, your expertise and for creating such a warm atmosphere.

Doc Forward is a project-driven co-production workshop for emerging Nordic documentary producers and directors. The focus is on nationally established and new talent directors with ambitions to go international in partnership with both new and more established producers.

Over 100 Film Project Submissions to Nordisk Panorama Forum

For the 29th edition of Nordisk Panorama Forum for Co-financing of Documentaries we have received over 100 projects from the Nordic and Baltic countries, and our German delegation. The selection process is now in progress and the selected projects will be announced in late July.If you wish to participate in Nordisk Panorama Forum as an observer, don’t forget to sign up for the forum accreditation by the 1 August deadline. The Forum will take place during Nordisk Panorama Film Festival 22-27 September with pitching and project meetings 26 and 27 September.

Producers Meet Producers

This year’s Forum programme will kick off once again with the networking event Producers Meet Producers on 25 September, featuring snappy presentations, tailored match-making and round table discussions.Producers can apply to attend this event when registering for accreditation to Nordisk Panorama Forum as either pitch teams, observers+ or observers before 1 August. Seats are limited and producers are asked to fill in a motivation for participation when registering.

Meet the German Delegation at NP Forum

Each year the forum welcomes a small delegation of producers from a guest territory, and this year we are happy to welcome a group of German producers in collaboration with Dok.fest München.The German producers will participate in the networking event Producers Meet Producers, where there will be an introduction to the delegates and the German production landscape.

Furthermore Nordisk Panorama Forum will welcome a number of commissioning editors and sales agents from the guest territory to the pitching and meeting tables.

#MalmöStories
+ Documentary Film School

This summer Nordisk Panorama introduces Malmö Stories – The One Minute Documentary Film Contest to our local community of young filmmakers! Anyone at the age of 15-30 years can participate by posting a film of no more than one minute on TikTok or Instagram with the hashtag #malmöstories.

In connection with the contest we will also launch The Malmö Stories Documentary Film School with tips and advice from local filmmakers that are being published on our social media.
