Nordisk Panorama Welcomes New Festival Producer

Nordisk Panorama is delighted to announce Cecilie Stranger-Thorsen as the new festival producer. Cecilie has profound knowledge and experience with the film industry and joined Nordisk Panorama on 15 March 2016. She will contribute to the organisation’s goals of promoting Nordic short and documentary films as well as creating a thrilling experience for film lovers during the festival, taking place in the diverse and dynamic City of Malmö.

Originally from Norway, Cecilie has lived in Malmö since 2004 and has worked in all Nordic countries. She holds an MA in Media Studies from the University of Bergen and has a background as project manager and independent consultant with Nordic projects in the field of film, games, TV and web. She has also served as the Chairperson and member of the Board of the children’s film festival BUFF in Malmö and she is passionate about audience engagement and community building.

Cecilie has worked with Nordisk Panorama since 2013 producing the festival’s Hackathon and Transmedia Meetup. She’s also the founder of the Nordic Transmedia meet-up group with a cross industry network of 800 producers.

On her new mission as the festival producer of Nordisk Panorama, she says: “I am looking forward to strengthening the awareness of and participation in Nordisk Panorama in the region, and contributing to Nordic films reaching a wider audience”. Her aim is to build stronger ties with the inhabitants of Malmö so that going to the cinema and watching the Nordisk Panorama films becomes a part of their lives each year in September.

Managing Director Søren Poulsen adds: “At Nordisk Panorama we are all very excited to have Cecilie on the team as our new festival producer. Cecilie has very strong skills and experience in project management combined with a natural capacity for seeking the new frontiers of film and media. Cecilie is a true innovative resource as she is able to analyse the needs, come up with new ideas in a creative process with others and finally add action to the recipe in order to achieve significant positive change. We warmly welcome Cecilie to our team, always striving to win the hearts of the regional audiences and industry guests at Nordisk Panorama.”

Cecilie replaces Monalisa Sundbom who stepped down from the position after three fruitful years in the organisation. Nordisk Panorama has benefited tremendously from her outstanding performance and wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavours.
