Town Hall
In a collaboration with the Nordisk Film & TV Fond, we are bringing back Nordisk Panorama Town Hall, where we will gather key industry stakeholders in a forum intended to address current obstacles and opportunities in the documentary industry.
Nordisk Panorama is an organisation by and for the filmmakers, guarding their interests and developing new frontiers for their films to be made and to be seen. We see our September festival as the most important annual platform for our community to meet, share knowledge and get inspired. This year we will dig deeper into some of the findings of NFTF’s survey on financing and distribution of high-end creative documentaries.
Questions ripe for discussion include:
Audience Shifts – where is the documentary audience?
How to maintain/further develop circular public economies in an extractive and privatised global environment?
The VOD economy, what’srequired to improve the current dismal state of affairs of the rapidly expanding platform?
The Town Hall will be kicked off with a keynote by documentary expert Simon Kilmurry, former head of International Documentary Association (IDA) and POV, a documentary strand on US public broadcasting.
The keynote will be followed by two case studies. Ove Rishøj Jensen from AutoImages will talk about the financing of the film Nelly & Nadine. Miia Haavisto from Tekele Productions will share distribution stories from the launch of Lost Boys.
We urge you to join the discussion!
